Design your wedding colour scheme onlineTurquoise.

Yeah, it’s not really what we were expecting either, but in the world of colour, a company called Pantone reigns supreme — so when the company announces its colour of the year, cosmetics companies, fashion houses, and interiors designers take note. According to Pantone, 2010 is all about turquoise.

This means that the shops will be awash with the colour, and it’d be a great accent colour for your big day. Perfect for incorporating in your table scheme or for your bridesmaids’ dresses.

If you’re stuck for how to use the colour well, take a peek at the Pantone Wedding online tool (which they’ve launched in conjunction with the Dessy Group, famous for bridesmaids’ dresses and accessories). The tool allows brides-to-be to create a wedding mood board, using 194 hues from the Pantone spectrum. You can incorporate the trendy turquoise if you like, or opt for something more traditional like gold and pink. The board can then be passed along to your suppliers, bridesmaids and family members, complete with corresponding Pantone numbers – making sure that the whole wedding looks gloriously colour-co-ordinated.
