Donna Karan Iris, our fragrance for spring
We’ve come to love Donna Karen not just for her fashion, but for her sophisticated fragrances as well, and the latest addition to the range is one of the best yet.
There’s something very glamorous and luxurious about perfumes made with Iris, perhaps it’s because of the care and time that goes into extracting the Iris scent. The root of a mature iris is collected, washed and peeled and then, like vintage wine, left to dry for many years. The result is orris butter and iris absolute – both derived from the iris’s root and considered the molten gold of scent.
To create this fragrance, these ingredients are combined with magnolia, rose de Mai and violet flower, and laced with undertones of vetiver and ambrette seed. And the result is kind of mesmerising, and will be our scent of the spring.
100ml RRP £55, available from March 8 from Debenhams and House of Fraser (get free delivery from House of Fraser when you spend over £50 by clicking through from here)
